The Flower Fairy series was inspired by my good friend Ruth Cullen Sarnelle, who put the words felt and flowers together for me, and said the look on my face was as if she had handed me a million dollars! Of course, let's not overlook the influence of Cicely M. Barker's wonderful artwork, which I have always greatly admired. There are others in the series, and I would certainly entertain suggestions for new designs.

I love to make dolls. In the spirit of love, I have given dozens of dolls away to family and friends for the sheer pleasure it gives me to share myself and my talents with others. However humble I may be, it must still be acknowledged that I put somewhere between 9 and 11 hours of work (oh,- I mean love!) into each one of these dolls, as well as approximately $10 in raw materials. These dolls are made from pure wool felt with wool roving hair. They stand approximately 9" tall. They are individually cut, sewn, turned, stuffed (with either wool or polyester fiber), and jointed at shoulders and hip. The faces are molded from original ceramic sculpture and individually hand painted with acrylics. The hair is sewn, and then rooted by hand. These dolls are intended for collectors due to their delicate nature. They survive gentle play - my own daughters play with them all the time!- but they can't be washed and their hair cannot be combed through.
